Esteban de la Torre Ribadeneira is a lawyer with two Master's degrees, one in Administrative Law and the other in Children's Rights and Development Cooperation. He also holds a diploma in Social Management and Youth Policies and a degree in Public and Social Sciences. He is currently studying for a PhD in International Relations.
He has more than 15 years of experience in human rights issues for children and adolescents. He was legal advisor to the National Council for Children and Adolescents of Ecuador and since 2010 he has been Coordinator of the Legal and Rights Restitution Area of the Inter-American Children's Institute (IIN), a specialised agency of the Organisation of American States. This area is in charge of the implementation of the Inter-American Program for the Elimination of all Forms of Violence against Children and Adolescents, among others.
He has also been a university professor and held other institutional functions.
