About this speaker
Juan Diego Oquendo studied literature and linguistics before developing a career in journalism. He later worked at the Asociación Nacional Contra el Maltrato Infantil (CONACMI) in Guatemala, creating virtual classrooms for healthcare professionals and lawyers developing child protection systems.
More recently Juan worked in the development and implementation of child safeguarding measures for the Social Welfare Agency of Guatemala that oversees public foster homes.
Juan joined Keeping Children Safe as a permanent team member, delivering advice and workshops to not-for-profit organisations, helping them develop, monitor and evaluate child safeguarding policies.
