The presentation provides an overview of the lessons learned and the current approach of SOS Children’s Villages in responding to past incidents of abuse. It focus on three key topics: 1) Child safeguarding work in SOS Children’s Villages International, 2) Definition of past abuse, important considerations, and 3) Organizational response to past incidents of abuse. Specific attention is paid to the individual support provided to individuals affected by past abuse, various forms of support, and the key principles for defining the support.
