A Talk by Fotini-Sonia (Tinia) Apergi, Psy.D. , Panagiota Kanellopoulou and Nantina Tsekeri
About this Talk
In this talk, presenters will focus on different aspects:
Fotini-Sonia (Tinia) Apergi, Psy.D. The presentation will focus on the contribution of therapeutic jurisprudence in maximizing the possible therapeutic effects the law can have on victims of child abuse and their families and in influencing law reform in child protection.
Panagiota Kanellopoulou: An introduction to Restorative Justice. This presentation will cover the topic of restorative justice as a legal process which can have therapeutic results to all the parties involved.
Nantina Tsekeri: Advancing child protection for children on the move through therapeutic jurisprudence. Refugee Children run multiple risks in their effort to seek for protection when fleeing war and persecution. Many of them are separated from their families and entering the host countries alone. This presentation will provide an examination of how a trauma informed approach to the law and its application (therapeutic jurisprudence) could be used to inform the asylum proceedings including family reunification.
